Personality

Anybody who believes that birds don’t have a personality have obviously never had one. It doesn’t take long to see that these extremely intelligent creatures are aware of what’s going on around them. – Sherri Moorer

Bubbles 2019Sherri’s June Feathered Frenzy submission delves into the mysteries and wonders of parrot personality.  What motivates, invigorates and maddens our birds is important for all parronts to understand, acknowledge and address.

Read how Sherri rewards and celebrates the distinctly different yet equally wonderful personalities of Bubbles and Zack in this month’s Feathered Frenzy article.

Such a Helpful Birdie… or Not!

IMG_20190505_124313Morty has ratcheted up his mischievousness of late, turning his whimsy from the demonic Alexa to his mom.  Poor mom Diana, her moments of relaxation and contemplation on the couch have now become minutes of constant taunts from Morty.

Check out Morty’s May Beneath the Cage Grate article to find out just how far he goes to have his mom at his beckon call!

Sherri’s Feathered Frenzy article for May touches on the keys for raising and nurturing healthy, happy companion birdies: finding a good avian veterinarian! These individuals hold incredible fountains of knowledge and advice. IMG_20190505_124249

Mastering the Fluff & Fold

Kphotostudio_1553651658727eito is often enlisted (begrudgingly) to help mom with the laundry.

Assuming her duties on the Fluff & Fold assembly line for about 2 minutes, she then makes a beeline for the linen closet to chortle at me – probably telling me to go fluff & fold myself no doubt!

Pretty in Pink!

Alert: Sick Human!

bubbles 7-4-16In our April issue, Sherri reminds all who share their home and life with birds that when we get sick, our birds react in different, and often negative ways to our illness.  Sherri experienced a very nasty bout with two viruses over a few weeks and as she recuperated, Sherri took notice of how her illness affected Bubbles in a more direct and somewhat serious way.  Zack on the other hand was attuned such human frailties and takes moms sicknesses in relatively good stride.

While diseases are rarely shared with humans, birds can definitely share nasty bugs with us!  Read Sherri’s Feathered Frenzy article here.
