The Power of Words: Feathered Frenzy

While we may speak ‘human’ to our companion birds, they often respond back in ‘human’ language too. Sometimes they get syntax wrong, or say something off color at inappropriate times, we should never underestimate the level of which parrots in particular understand what we say and mimic it back to us.

Sherr’s May ’24 Feathered Frenzy column provides a glimpse into how she, Zack and Bubbles interacted and worked through a stressful time recently. Talking with one another, across species, is not as lost in translation as non-parrot owners may think!
