The Power of Words: Feathered Frenzy

While we may speak ‘human’ to our companion birds, they often respond back in ‘human’ language too. Sometimes they get syntax wrong, or say something off color at inappropriate times, we should never underestimate the level of which parrots in particular understand what we say and mimic it back to us.

Sherr’s May ’24 Feathered Frenzy column provides a glimpse into how she, Zack and Bubbles interacted and worked through a stressful time recently. Talking with one another, across species, is not as lost in translation as non-parrot owners may think!

Spunky Stories: Feathered Frenzy

In her April ’24 Feathered Frenzy column, Sherri explores, “what human characteristics and traits do you bestow on your avian companions? It might be interesting to consider how much you see them as you see yourself”.

Catch up with Sherri, Zack and Bubbles to find out how personalities and traits find there way into imaginative writings and musings.

Soundtracks: Feathered Frenzy

How do you ‘entertain’ your feathered companions? Do you sing to them? Make up silly songs? If you do, you’re not alone.

Common Parrot Behaviors: Feathered Frenzy

Do you ever wonder why your companion birdie does some of the things it does? Bird behavior is complex and diverse across species, and for parronts, sometimes our feathered friends do things that are quite perplexing. .

Recapturing Joy: Feathered Frenzy

The New Year is about new beginnings, but sometimes inspiration can be found in reviving things that brought you joy. How about considering things you can bring back in 2024, for both you and your parrot, to enhance your joy in new, creative ways.

Sherri’s new year’s Feathered Frenzy column asks us parronts to think about what we could ‘reinvent’ or resurrect in 2024 with our fids that will bring both them and us joy.

Happy New Year Everybirdie! All the best to all our feathered and human followers in 2024!

Do your parrots get excited over the holidays? Zack certainly does! Somehow he knows it’s Christmastime even before all the decorating and festivities begin.

In Sherri’s December ’23 Feathered Frenzy column, catch up with Zack and Bubbles to find out how they approach the holiday season.

As Sherri says, the best gift for us is to see our companion birdies healthy, happy, and enjoying life.

Routines: Feathered Frenzy

“I’ve always believed that small things make a big difference, and routines can go a long way in keeping you and your birds balanced during the busy holiday season. It’s some order in a universe of chaos that keeps us steady, calm, and at peace. Aren’t gratitude and peace what the season is about?” – Sherri

Catch up with Sherri in her November ’24 edition of Feathered Frenzy and find out what you might be able to try to keep your household ticking along in a routine this upcoming holiday season!

How Birds Trained Me: Feathered Frenzy

Every parront eventually realizes that, despite what we may think, our birdie companions train us just as much as we (think) we train them.

Sherri’s September ’23 Feathered Frenzy column describes the numerous, wonderful ways we can learn from our feathered companions while also gaining a better understand of what they’re trying to teach us – and yes – train us to do!
