Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring because of that runaway Roomba Alexa gave mother for Christmas! Honestly, I could just spit seeds! Just when you thought it was safe to take a stroll around the apartment, that ditzy Alexa strikes again!
Morty’s challenges with Alexa continue. Visit Morty’s Column to read his hilarious take on Alexa’s gift for mum.
After coming down with a nasty sinus infection a week before Christmas, Sherri soon
realizes how some of her negative behavior can quickly transfer over to the behavior and reactions of Bubbles and Zack.
Sherri observes that companion birds can help us become better people – if we acknowledge that their reactions can shine a light on problems that we might want to avoid. There’s so much to behavior on the part of humans and birds.
Visit our Feathered Frenzy page to find out how Sherri strives to balance a
busy work schedule and implement relaxation techniques to help her get “centered” when the world around her gets out of control.
To all of us here at The Roost, we want to extend our best wishes to everybir
die for a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019!
May your birdie stockings be brimming with your favourite nom noms and your dreams filled with visions of new toys, tasty treats and many, and oodles of scritchies and hours of playtime with your parronts.
Have a wonderful Christmas everybirdie! Stay tuned for new articles and news from The Roost’s contributors in early January!
Today is the one-year anniversary of Chloe’s passing due to a cat attack. Mom, dad, Bubbles and Zack miss you so very much 😢. Watch over them and your countless Anipals who remember you today and miss you terribly. In our hearts forever, love you always Chloe ❤️💔😢
Visit It’s A Birb Thing to see Lavender’s latest adorable Cheeks comic strip!

It starts on November 1, inspiring over seven weeks of bright eyes, excitement, and good behavior. It is the ringtone that only mommy can hear: “Hello? Hi, Santa!” Bubbles and Zack begin their posturing and charm as they know the holidays are on the horizon and they’re on Santa’s radar for good behavior! The holidays are a fun time, and we can share that fun with our avian companions. We just have to be mindful of exercising appropriate safety precautions around the home and with other people.
Read Sherri’s inspiring and fun Feathered Frenzy article to find out more about fun ways to get your birdies excited for the upcoming holidays and safe ways to include them in the festivities.
While softening, a little, towards Alexa, Morty is now dealing with a distraught Sid The
Parrot. Sid is struggling to find a way to get all of his dad’s attention while
desperately trying to put distance between his dad and a meddling woman friend. Despite pouring on the charm to win her over, Sid writes to Morty seeking help to dissuade his dark thoughts about ‘getting rid’ of this woman.
Instead of resorting to actions that would lead to notoriety – and possibly publishing rights, Morty advises Sid to use some tried and true parrot moves for messing with humans! Read Morty’s sage advice to Sid on Beneath the Cage Grate BUT, make sure to read the article away from the prying eyes of your parronts – just in case you need to invoke some of these strategies in your future!
