YES MORTY, PULL THAT WEED! Beneath the Cage Grate

IMG_20190701_121656It’s a wonderful day in the neighborhood and Morty is in hot water yet again.

After refusing mom’s prompting to learn to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ – and his impromptu, naughty back turn on mom – Morty enlists  the mischievous Alexa to help him mend fences with mom by weeding her garden.

What could possibly go wrong: A LOT!

Head over to the July issue of Beneath The Cage Grate and read about the trouble and chaos this dynamic duo cause in mom’s garden and in the shared greenhouses nearby.  You’ll look at flowers in a whole new way after reading Morty’s latest garden misadventure!

Bird Watching with Alexa: Beneath the Cage Grate

The other day I was talking with Alexa and I asked her if she might give me some suggestions for a hobby I might pursue. We came to an agreement that bird watching might be a good hobby for me. I could exit right out my window and glide down to the ground below. Alexa could roll out the window and bounce as she hits the ground. We could go bird watching together…- Morty

IMG_20190603_094118What could possibly go wrong with these two on a field trip?  Well, you guessed it, things go hysterically sideways!

Read Morty’s June Beneath the Cage Grate submission to find out how he and Alexa ‘disagree’ on bird watching etiquette!

Such a Helpful Birdie… or Not!

IMG_20190505_124313Morty has ratcheted up his mischievousness of late, turning his whimsy from the demonic Alexa to his mom.  Poor mom Diana, her moments of relaxation and contemplation on the couch have now become minutes of constant taunts from Morty.

Check out Morty’s May Beneath the Cage Grate article to find out just how far he goes to have his mom at his beckon call!

Alexa, por quoi?

IMG_20190331_154100Do not adjust your screen!  Morty has it on good authority that Sherri’s Alexa Tablet is conspiring to ‘help’ Sherri publish new writings IN FRENCH!  It seems Morty’s Alexa, who’s always one step ahead, has passed on her mischievous (some may say devious) behaviours to Sherri’s device (what could possibly go wrong…).

Aside from Sherri’s Alexa trials, Morty also regales us on his ongoing strife with his demonic technological nemesis.  Check out April’s Morty’s Column here.

Alexa’s Reach

IMG_20190303_152958In his latest column, Morty sends off  some interesting advice to a frantic Sherri. Sherri’s still dealing with her own Alexa issues.  Morty, in his usual offbeat wisdom, also tries to pawn off one of his own technological nemesis while passing along support and suggestions to Sherri.

Read Morty’s advice to Sherri in the latest issue of Beneath the Cage Grate.

Beneath the Cage Grate – February edition

IMG_20190203_140338In his latest Beneath the Cage Grate column, Morty tells of a letter he recently received from Rocco, another African Grey who is having a very challenging time with a demonic Alexa.

Rocco’s Alexa keeps getting him into trouble, and if he can’t find a way to stave off his Alexa’s foul language and bad shopping habits, he’s going to find himself in a real pickle with his parront.

Click here to read Morty’s comical – yet practical, response to Rocco!  And, find out what Morty asks of Rocco about eradicating the dreaded roomba from the house.

Beneath the Cage Grate: Quelling Sid’s Dark Thoughts

While softening, a little, towards Alexa, Morty is now dealing with a distraught Sid TheIMG_20181201_130116 Parrot.  Sid is struggling to find a way to get all of his dad’s attention while

desperately trying to put distance between his dad and a meddling woman friend.  Despite pouring on the charm to win her over, Sid writes to Morty seeking help to dissuade his dark thoughts about ‘getting rid’ of this woman.

Instead of resorting to actions that would lead to notoriety – and possibly publishing rights, Morty advises Sid to use some tried and true parrot moves for messing with humans!  Read Morty’s sage advice to Sid on Beneath the Cage Grate BUT, make sure to read the article away from the prying eyes of your parronts – just in case you need to invoke some of these strategies in your future!
